New for 2021, Bauer is simplifying their skate lineup just like they did on the player side. With a new fit system and model designation, the Bauer Elite INT Goalie Skates are a mashup of all the great features from the recent Vapor and Supreme lines designed to be a more cost effective option that still provides great performance.
Skate Fit Profile
Just like Bauer did for their player line, the new Elite skate features a new fit system made up of 3 different widths and depths designed to fit a wider variety of goalies. Fit 1 is a Low Volume, Narrow Width closest aligned to the current Supreme goalie fit profile; fit 2 is a Medium Volume, Medium Width closest aligned to the current goalie Vapor fit profile; Fit 3 is a new fit coming in sizes 7-10.5 for High Volume, Wide Width closest aligned to the player Nexus fit profile
Boot Construction/Stiffness/Level of Play
The Elite skate also uses a 3D lasted Curv composite quarter similar to the Pro skate offering good lateral support and rigidity. Paired with their StanceFlex + technology, the Elite boot while slightly softer offers a good combination of energy transfer and support.
Liner/Internal Padding
The liner in the Elite skate is their HydraMax 2 liner similar to that seen on the X2.9 skate in previous years. This liner offers great moisture wicking and comfort especially when combined with AeroFoam ankle padding.
Tongue
A pro felt tongue is used on the Elite skate which is great for flexibility and lace-bite protection.
Holders & Steel
The Elite skates stick with the Vertexx edge holder and LS3G+ steel combo as seen on all of their performance level goal skates in recent years.
Graphics
The Bauer Elite Intermediate Goalie Skates feature a clean understated black and silver design with hints of a vibrant green accent colour.
